The pattern of a lighted Christmas tree on a black background is actually embedded within the glass, not applied to the surface. Using a series of complex stencils, powdered enamel pigments are hand-applied between two layers of recycled glass and kiln-fired at over 1500F degrees. The process fuses the glass and pigments together, permanently sealing in the design and creating a unique character of bubbles and surface texture in the glass. The result is a gorgeous, durable, 100-percent food-safe serving piece that is microwave-warmable and dishwasher-safe. Due to its hand-crafted nature, each piece of Peggy Karr glass may vary in size.
